Addi's Party

For Addi's birthday, she wanted to have a pool party. So we finally found the time when Dad could be home to help out and go. We went to the indoor pool, ate sorbet and cake, opened fun presents and played. She was happy to celebrate her day with her friends.

Addison Poetry Hiatt turns 10!!!

Addison turned 10 on March 28th, two digits, crazy! For dinner she chose the blandest looking stuff ever-shepherds pie, cheesy biscuits, and frosted cauliflower. All the same color, but she loved it. She got an Idog for her Ipod and new bedding. We are so grateful for our beautiful Addi! She is so helpful to her Mom with taking care of Beckett and helping out around the house. It won't be long before she outgrows Mom as well, not a huge feat:) We love you Addi!

Went to Colorado to see John Mayer perform in Denver. We stayed with family in Colorado Springs. They watched the kids while we went to the concert and then we got stranded overnight in Denver away from our kids because all the roads were closed after the concert. Luckily, we have some great friends who live next to Denver, let us crash at their house at 1am. It was a very memorable trip, especially when the keys got locked in the car the next morning as we were trying to leave. It was probably pretty memorable for my brother and sister-in-law too, who had to deal with a nursing baby all night who wasn't cool with me being gone all night. Thanks so much to them again!! We also had some fun with the cousins and Aunt Melissa at this fun family center. Good Times!!

We had a great Valentines day together as a family. We made some special treats, had a yummy breakfast and dinner, went to church, and played a game. I love all these pics of family holding Beckett. Addi is constantly trying to hold Beckett. I think she held him for about 2 hours while she read her book. My Mom came up for a week after I had the baby to help me out, it was so nice to have her here helping me with keeping the house clean and in order. My Little Man Asher

Asher is so into guns, swords and lightsabers. He has to have this belt on to carry around his gun and lightsaber and any other weapon he can manage to fit into the belt or his pockets, if he has any. It is so funny!! He then gets on his batman mask to finish out the outfit. He even started singing the Star Wars theme song with his lightsaber thrust up into the air. He brings so much fun and humor into our lives. I can't wait until him and Beckett are running around together as action heroes. But then the other day he runs down with one of the girls purse on his arm and had to have it, he wanted to be just like Mom and the girls.

New Addition to our family--Beckett

On September 21st at 8:30am we welcomed our last addition to our family, a boy, who we named Beckett. He has lots of dark brown hair, weighed 7lbs 12 oz and 193/4" long. He lost a pound in the hospital so went home weighing 6 lb 15 oz. He is such a sweet boy and the kids can't get enough of him. Asher had one time so far where you could tell he wasn't happy with the having a new brother. He kept whining for someone to pay attention to him and then he finally clawed at Beckett as we were changing his diaper. Hope this doesn't continue!

District Spelling Bee

Addi was in the district spelling bee last thursday the 22nd. She and a 5th grader represented her school. There were 30 kids from all the elementary and mid high schools there to compete. She did really well for a 3rd grader, she made it to the 3rd round with only 14 kids left, and she and one other girl were the only 3rd graders still in the bee. She beat out the 5th grade boy from her school and much older kids. She missed the word "imam" which is an arabic word that she has never heard of before. Everyone in the room kind of gasped like "ooh". Anyways, if you know the word it isn't hard to spell but when you don't well it was pretty foreign to her. She spelled it imome. Anyways, we are super proud of her, especially since their isn't a list to study from and we didn't do any real prep for it. Good going Addison!!! She got her name in the local paper which she thought was really cool.

London always says the funniest things. And if I was smart I would write them down more often. The other day she said she wanted hard boiled eggs and let's go to the store to buy some. I then told her you can't buy that at the store and Mommy needs to make them. She then proceeding to tell me in her sassiest know-it-all voice, Grandma does! I then say no Grandma makes them too. And again in her sassy voice she says, then how did Grandma get the shells on?! Like she had wrapped up her case against me and how can you be so dumb Mom! Man, she cracks me up.

Addi and London went with their Daddy on an emergency trip to Ruidoso to fix a DVD machine on Saturday night, he felt bad since he just came back from being down there 3 days. Anyways, he promised to get them happy meals and a toy they could pick out at walmart. So, they were excited to go on a 7 hour trip with their Dad for these exciting promises:) Doesn't take much to make them happy. They got ready to go with their DVD tv, Didj, Leapster, stuffed animals, blankets, and treats and off they went happily. They got back around 1am, but were so excited to show me their awesome presents. London got a dart gun and something else and Addi got some liquid candy and press-on nails with decals. She worked on filing and putting on decals for hours and then had me put them on. She was more than a little excited about them and after she found out she couldn't get them wet for an hour had me brush her teeth for her. She even asked London to open a bag for her so she wouldn't break one of her nails. It was so cute to watch and see her so excited to be so grown up. And London did her own hair tonight and was so pleased with herself for doing such a good job. She asked me how it looked and then showed me two ways she could wear the do and asked which one looked better. She then primped in front of the mirror for awhile. You gotta love girls. And I sure love mine!

Chadd's parents have a pass to the Dinosaur Museum in Lehi, so we all went up and met Aunt Leslie, Aunt April and Uncle Ben there. They had the most fun in the water area, Asher loved throwing stuff. Well, Taya wasn't a big fan of getting her hands wet and dirty it was so funny.

Sledding in Utah

We went to Utah 2 days after Christmas for 9 days and had a blast with all of our family there. It was jam packed with something to do and people to visit. We love visiting, but I'm not a huge fan of the snow we usually have to go thru to get there, we will go back in the summer when it's much nicer to travel and not so much gear to bring. This is Chadd's family we went sledding with, we had a great time except we didn't come thru unscathed. Asher fell twice in the parking lot on hard snow and got banged up pretty bad and Addi begged her uncle to go over a jump with her, which didn't end well for her with her uncle on top of her. Good times! But definitely love being back in New Mexico with less snow to deal with. (Grandma and Grandpa Collard came in their car and watched us sled and check out Asher's groovy threads probably from the 80's).

Christmas Morning

Here's some pictures of the kids with their new loot. Asher loved pretty much every gift. He got a basketball hoop and ball and knew just what to do, without any guidance. He also got this huge fighter jet plane, that I think Asher is going to have to fight Chadd to play with:) Addi and London both got game players, a Leapster and Didj, which they played almost all day. Addi was so cute she told me all she wanted was a poetry book from Shel Silverstein, a nintendo ds, and a fur real pet. She was so excited to get "Don't bump the glump" and "Tale of Despereaux" and she loved the Didj and said it was better than the nintendo ds because it taught her stuff. But, I think one of her favorite things was moon shoes that she jumped in for 1/2 the day. London asked for an outfit that "mommy likes":), a pet-she got sea monkeys, and some little pocket pets. She loved the leapster. All were happy for what they got and then we had a very lazy day hanging out at home doing nothing. This was a first for us since we are always leaving for Utah soon after presents, so it was a nice break. Plus, you wouldn't believe it but we took down our christmas tree that night and hauled it to a park where they turn it into mulch. It was nice to have done before leaving for Utah, plus now I'm not so worried about having my house burn down from the dried out christmas tree:)

For Christmas Eve, we always open a couple of presents, usually pjs or slippers and a new christmas book (like probably a lot of people) and Chadd read them the story. Here's some cute pics of the kids in their new pjs and Asher's new spiderman slippers that he calls "shoes". He loves them!

I had to put both pics of the kids, because I think it's so funny how London always poses! Little Miss Sassy! Had to put a picture in of me and miss Addi with our new hairdos. Addi loves hers and thinks she is "it" with long bangs! It was fun to go with her, she is growing up so fast and should be taller than her Mom in the next couple years:)

Ok, note to self, don't set yourself up for disappointment when you ask Chadd to take pics of kids at some outing. Chadd was great and took the kids to the museum while I exercised, wrapped presents, and met me at the hair salon later to get mine and Addi's hair cut. I sent him with the camera to get fun pics of the kids at the museum, which me and Asher have never been to. Well, this is the picture Chadd got of their outing, the trip home while Asher crashed with his sandwich in his hand (I found old cheese left in the car a few days later from this trip:). Well, at least he got one picture.

Our friends were so excited to get our silly gift, which I cannot reveal until after my families party in Utah. Rio Rancho got some snow the other day, it snowed all day long. So, I got the call that school was cancelled which is so funny. Anyways, the kids had fun making a little snowman, jumping on the trampoline with all the snow and Addi decided it would be fun to ride her sled down our rock pile on our driveway to the street. Good thing no cars came when she went all the way to the other side to our neighbor's driveway. Asher was dying to go outside and I had this older hand-me-down snowsuit that cracked us up, got him in it and then he was ticked with it on. He fun outside for a little bit and then he was just mad with the attached gloves, so we went back inside and he was mad again. Oh brother!

Chadd Takes Another Lover

That's right everybody. There's just enough game left in this old playa to bag a new phone. You didn't think I'd take a real lover and have the audacity to post it on our family blog right? Didn't think so. But you've got to check one of these out sometime. I'm sure most of you have seen the commercial where they show somebody looking up google maps and then kicking over to google streetview and it shows up in real time on the phone where the person is. Well, that aint the half of it honey. This thing's got a touch screen, removable high capacity micro SD card (up to 16 gigs of removable love. Makes the iPhone look like a table cracker.) 3.1 mp camera, 3g capable, google talk, AIM, MSN msgr, Yahoo msgr, facebook, gmail, any other POP or IMAP mail, and thats just the shizzle already insizzle. Feel me?

Also, the operating system the G1 uses (I refuse to use the degrading term "smart phone" for something so elegant) is the google android open source platform. For all you non-nerds out there, this means the phone can be modified and applications can be developed by anyone with the time and ability to do so. In turn most of these apps are free at the android market site accessible on the G1 unlike the cash you gotta lay out in Apple's app store (take that iCracker). We're talking totally useful apps, as well as games, like Compare Everywhere, a barcode scanner program that lets you scan the barcode on something you want to purchase which in turn pulls up prices, both locally and online, and reviews from people who've purchased in the past. I use this all the time.

The other day I dl'd this game called Zombie Run which uses the GPS function on the phone (that's right, built in GPS that uses google maps to give you Garmin-like directions to your destination in real time--I know, totally worth its own paragraph, but you gotta pick your battles. So, I see my location on the phone and I have to pick a destination I'd like to get to. Np I'm thinking, so I pick something a couple of blocks away and BAM!! Sweet mama, I've got zombies coming at me from all sides. They aren't moving quick, they're the undead after all, I've heard that tends to take the zip out of your stride, but they're trying to cut me off! I've got to move quickly. I'm out of my house, and running like a crazed chicken licker trying to evade the walking dead who want to kill me, but nobody else knows what I'm doing. So I'm checking my G1 to see where those jerks are while watching out for curbs and vegetation and running down the street. People are looking out their windows and up or down the street thinking double d's finally lost it, I knew the day was coming. "Hey Madge come get a load of that Hiatt joker up the street. I think his thought box's finally bought the farm. I told you it was gonna happen." I haven't even told Tracy about this yet, but man, if a game can get my butt out of my house and running then I gotta give it props. I mean, I can move. I got wheels still, even if they're only good for short sweaty distances at this point, but I hate running with a passion born of sore knees and shrivelled, atrophied lungs. I made it, but I hate zombies too.

Oh, and I love this thing so much that I bought a Best Skins Ever protector for it. they're only $7.99 plus shipping but you gotta check out this video and see that it really makes a huge difference. So, now that you all want one you can check out http://www.bestskinsever.com/ and get yours. It's a little grippy right after you put it on and it will pull lint out of your pocket for a week or so, but that goes away quickly and you'll love the fact that you can't scratch your touchscreen now! Buy it for your iCracker too. Other companies like Zagg are selling they're "invisible shield" for 25 bones. Lame. Same stuff too as far as I can tell. Buy it, you'll thank me later.

Newly Painted Door and Asher's New Church Clothes

We finally painted our front door, and after a couple of weeks, I like it. I have a hard time with choosing paint color and go into shock for awhile after we have painted something. Picking out paint colors is such a difficult thing for me, if I was better at it more of my house would be painted already. Anybody with expertise can come help me anytime!!! The door painted definitely makes it look cleaner.
I also finally found some church clothes for Asher, and now he is the man! Look at that handsome boy!

Thanksgiving on our own for the first time

We stayed home for the first time in 12 years to have our own Thanksgiving. We had some friends, the Drakes, over for the feast. It was a fabulous dinner!! We had pretty much everything we would have if we had gone home. We made rolls, sweet potato casserole, cheesy vegetables, and 4 pies. They were all super good. We also had some mishaps with salt as we were making stuff and had to throw away a batch of rolls and pie filling, we were getting delirious by the end of the night before Thanksgiving, but luckily we caught our mistakes and didn't serve salt rolls and salt pumpkin pie:) Jamie Drake brought cards for the kids to make, which they loved. Then had some more neighbors over, the Fitzgerald's, for pie. We had 7 pies and a pan of brownies for 6 adults and 8 kids. Lots of fun, the only bummer was it rained pretty much all day and the kids couldn't go outside and play. Fun day though and nice not to have to make the 10+hour drive to Utah for a few days. But it is sure nice to go home too and not have to make so much stuff as well.

I had to find a new way of hiding Asher's toys downstairs, so it didn't look like just a playroom in our family room. I found this leather ottoman with hinged storage inside, which is very easy for him to open and right at his height to get at his toys. But his favorite thing is to climb inside with his toys. It's too cute!

Asher wanted to get in the shower with me the other day, he signed "please", but I had to say no. Well, I hear something like kicking the tub next to the shower and think Asher is just kicking the side of it. Well, I get out and there is Asher in the tub fully clothed with the water on. He was having a grand old time. He was probably like "oh, really, we will see about that" when I said no to him. The little punk! Luckily, I have caught him doing this one other time since then. (I do keep the door to my bathroom closed at all times now).

I got this cookbook from my mother-in-law of fun things to make for dinner. Addi saw this dinner with octupus and seaweed and just had to have it. They thought it was the best dinner ever, definitely not the most nutritious! Chadd wouldn't even eat it-punk:) Asher thought it was pretty great as well and had to have a serving spoon to eat it with.

Terrible Blogger lately

I've been so horrible about posting lately. Nothing too eventful, I guess. We did just do a huge amount of planting in our yard. Wish it meant we were done, but still have more. Little by little. I will post some pics soon of the backyard and thanksgiving. We stayed home this year and it was nice, except we miss our family back in Utah.

Flight Home

We luckily had two rows to ourselves on the way home. Here's Asher climbing the plane seats, pretty impressive. Addi was holding a barf bag to her mouth half the way home and luckily for all on the plane that there were 30 seats empty. A man told us how good our kids were when we got off the plane, he was really impressed, so I guess they did pretty good for the 4 hour flight back. The only bummer to our trip was not making it to the beach due to weather and of course the kids getting sick at the end, but it was all very memorable and well worth it. And now you all are pretty sick of seeing our whole album of our trip to Disneyworld, so don't worry this is the end:)

Epcot

Just some places in Epcot. We thought we wore London out, but no it takes the flu to bring our energizer bunny down. But mind you, she was up and running the next day. Addi got it the next day and it took her a week to feel better. We loved Epcot and the kids loved finding the Kidcot places in the different countries that they got to color cut outs and attach to a mask.

Storybook Princess Lunch Surprise!

On thursday we went to Epcot and had another surprise for the girls. We took them to the storybook princess lunch at Norway. I checked us in and we were waiting to get called in, the girls were wondering why we were just standing around and asked if we could go to the princess lunch. I told them you have to make reservations like 3 months in advance (which is true) and that we couldn't. They were so bummed. The night before they had seen the Cinderella Royal Table, where they do the same thing in the Magic Kingdom, and wanted to do that as well and they told Chadd that was the one thing that they wanted to do most of all and would make the trip perfect:) So, they called our names and Addi looks at me like "did they just call us to go in?" all incredulous! I said yes and she was beside herself with excitement. If London had been feeling better, I know she would be as excited as Addi, but she came down with the flu that day. It was so much fun and great food. It was way worth the overpriciness of the meal, and it was actually Chadd's bday, so they brought him and London a bday cupcake (her bday was the week before). London didin't eat anything, but I think enjoyed it all. It was very fun.

We went back to magic kingdom to go on the rides we missed the first time. We went on Space Mountain loved it and Chadd was so excited for the Pirates of the Carribean ride which had no line! Then Jack Sparrow came by and London became an honorary pirate, so she can't bathe anymore:) We had such a fabulous time there. The kids favorite rides were Splash Mountain and Thunder Mountain (Asher's was the water area and little toddlers playarea by these rides).

Hollywood Studios

Had to get Asher eating the Huge turkey leg that Chadd got for free as a magic moment:) And had to have a picture of our everyday ride on the parking lot shuttle, which was always a joy to take all our stuff off our stroller and put on with kids, and close up our strollers. It was a production every time.

Hollywoood Studios-4th Day

We loved the rides here. The tower of terror and aerosmith ride ROCKED!! London didn't love the tower of terror, but she did it anyways. They got to see a Beauty and the Beast show, the Muppet Show, and Indiana Jones stunt show they were all fun. Addi got to train to be a patowan (sp?) for Star Wars and fight Darth Vador. I'm going to post a video of her doing it. Plus, they had the best firework show of all the parks, at the end of the night.

Animal Kingdom-3rd Day

This is one of Addi's favorite parks. They got to ride some fast rides and be a part of the lion king show. And I have to say, I'm not fond of the humidity, my hair looks crazy and not the best the whole stay, since I have naturally curly hair that I straighten. It was pretty pointless to do there.

On Sunday, we went to church and the temple was right across the street, so we went to take pics and look at it. We went to the shops and played with Legos, girls played with Tiaras and then went back to the Hotel, not a very eventful day.

Day 1

We got to Disneyworld and loaded up got in the gates to take a monorail to the park and our stroller'S (we borrowed) wheel feel off! So we limped onto the monorail and as we are leaving the intercom system lets us know we are on our way to epcot, so we take the trip full circle back to where we started and get on the right one. We get in and went to guest services to see if someone can help us fix the stroller. Luckily a parade had just started,so I took the kids out to watch while Chadd fixed the stroller. Some worker worked wonders and fixed the stroller-phew! It was a fun first day with the first ride to the Haunted Mansion-London wasn't loving it the whole time. The weather was great, just a little rain at night. The kids had a blast and Asher liked the water area the best. I think we waited the longest for the Dumbo ride.

Hotel pool

We got to our hotel around 8pm and the girls were so excited to go to the pool. So by the time we got in our room and down there it was late and they had the pool all to themselves, they thought this was heaven! Still, no clue why they are all the way in Orlando, Florida (they know where we are, but have no clue what that means). The pool was HUGE and a really cool jacuzzi, but didn't get a chance to go in there.

Here we're taking off for Florida, still the kids don't know where we are going.
Asher is enthralled by airplanes, he signs it whenever he hears one and at exercise class there is a boy who always brings these toy fighter airplanes, which Asher always gravites to, much to the dismay of the boy. It would've been fun to be inside his little noggin to know what he was thinking. I wonder if he understood that he was inside of a real airplane.
We had two rows and Chadd sat by this older couple who were great, especially after we gave them free drink coupons that Chadd gets for flying so frequently. All the kids did great on the plane, suprisingly Asher did really well for 4 hours sitting in a little space. I think all the passengers were relieved, especially after seeing us board up:)

The kids still have no clue where we are going. They keep thinking we are going to visit grandma and grandpa:) We had two rows and Chadd sat by this older couple who were great, especially since we gave them some drink coupons Chadd gets for flying so frequently. They were so great with Asher and Ash did pretty dang good for a 4 hour flight and little room to go.

Surprise Trip

We are leaving today, Friday, to take our kids to Disneyworld in Orlando, FL. The fun part is that our kids have no clue that they are going anywhere. They'll go to school in the morning and around 10:30am we are going to pick them up and drive to the airport. We are not going to tell them anything till we get there, in florida. I'm so excited, it's like Christmas. We haven't done a big trip like this for our whole family, so I'm super excited and hope the kids are too. We will post pics as soon as we can and hopefully some video of their reactions. (oh, and London had her birthday on tuesday and so I keep telling her we're having her bday party this weekend-won't she be surprised). Well probably should go to bed so I can get some sleep before the big hurrah:)

Asher is in love with pumpkins. He has to go outside and show me our neighbors blow-up pumpkin everyday. He especially loves this pumpkin that plugs in and lights up. So guess what I'm doing everyday?! He's going to go nuts at Halloween, it will be fun to see.

We took the kids to Lowes to build their own pirate ship. They thought it was great fun, especially Asher, as he got to use his own little hammer. He is all boy, with his love of tools, balls, cars, and makes everything into a gun--already!!

We went to one of my favorite places, Buca Di Bepo, for a belated b-day dinner. I got a free dessert, a huge brownie sundae that we all shared. London was loving it. And then she says, "mommy I'm full, my tummy hurts." Well, if any of you know London this was a first in her young life, so we had to make sure we captured this moment on camera and record it for our family history:)

This was right after our family reunion. We went to an amusement park in Colorado called Santa Claus' North Pole in Cascade. Everything is about Christmas, and the rides were all geared for the kids and very inexpensive. They had a blast and had the whole park almost to ourselves. This pic is us touching the north pole, it is cold all year round.

I just added another thing to distract me, Facebook! It is fun to find friends that I haven't seen or talked to in years, so I guess it's okay. I'm really happy that I could get a video uploaded on there that for some reason couldn't do on my blog. I thought Addi was a dancing queen, but I think Asher is Mr. John Travolta. Any time he hears a rhythm with anything he gets his groove on. I'm trying to prepare Chadd for a boy that wants to be a dancer:) Anyways, he just makes me smile.

Last Day of Reunion

Fun with Family

We went to Colorado for my family reunion and got to see Chadd's brother, sister-in-law and cousins on our way there. They live in Denver, so it was perfect place to stop on the way to Granby, CO for the reunion, with my side of the family. We got to see Kyle and Melissa for a couple of days and the kids had a blast with them. Melissa did the girls hair and made them look cool. Addi got to play guitar hero. They came up to Granby on labor day and played games and ate dinner. We had a great time! Oh, and Chadd whipped Kyle in a thumb war:) It's fun to hang out with family, we are glad they are closer to us now.

My Birthday-whoopee!

It was my birthday this week. I turned 36!! It felt like just another ordinary day. It definitely wasn't my most exciting birthday, but every year can't be as fabulous as last year. I went to Red Robin for lunch with my girlfriend to get my free burger, went visiting teaching, ran on my treadmill, did a little shopping at Ross, taught a piano lesson, helped the kids with homework, did laundry, then went with the family to a pizza place called Dion's and had a salad, then went to Baskin-Robbin for my free ice cream, which I gave to my kids and they loved it. Chadd gave me the greatest gift--John Mayer's new cd, love it!! My favorite song is his cover of "free fallin'". Then put kids to bed and went to sleep. Well, I love being 36 so far and feel like I like myself so much more than when I was in my 20's, it's a good thing. In a few years Chadd will be able to tell people he married a cougar:)

Reunion Time

Last day at the pool

We bought a punch pass this summer for the pool and used the last time on thursday. We went with our friends/neighbors who happen to be my girls bestest friends. They had a blast and got in as much swimming as possible. It was nice because we had the whole pool pretty much to ourselves.

The girls woke up one day their first week of school dying to wear matchy outfits. Their friends down the street had matching outfits and thought it was unfair that they didn't have the same deal. So, I found the closest things I could and they were so pleased. You know it will be a short time before they are ticked that they are trying to copy each other or if some other chick at school has on the same shirt. We'll enjoy it while it's still cool and fun. I thought this was a cute hairdo on London-I got the idea from a website I found through my sister-in-laws blog. She is such a good sport when it comes to her hair, especially since it is definitely more painful to get done with her curls.

Addi wants curly hair for a day

Addi wanted to have curly hair for school, so we put soft curlers in hair at night so it would actually hold a curl. The next morning she was up at the crack of dawn asking me to take out her curlers to see her new cute hairdo. Well, as we are taking them out I'm trying to hold back the gasps and "oh my goodness" facial expressions. We got them all out and I thought maybe if we just brush it, it will calm down and all will be okay. But as you can see it grew and grew. By then we were cracking up and searching for the camera. Addi then went into the bathroom to see if she could save her hairdo. So she squirted her hair with water and started brushing, not a good idea! Now she had crazy tight curls and stick straight hair everywhere. I tried hard not to laugh but oh man it was so funny. She was good humored about it and we ended up straightening it back. Hope she doesn't ever ask for a perm:)

First day of school

Addison and London had their first day of school August 18th. It started out with a call, around 6:30am, from the school saying there was a 2 hour delay because of damage done to school buses. So, the kids were bummed because they were so excited to go and kept asking if it was time to go. Addi was all cool when she got there like she didn't need us anymore and London was a little apprehensive at first and then found a friend and was just fine. Then they came home on the bus, which was about 30 minutes late. They had a great first day and Addi really liked her teacher. Both girls have a Mrs. Martinez for their teacher, crazy huh?! London was bummed that she didn't get to play on the big playground since school was shortened and then was totally bored during quiet time where they laid down and listened to music. If you know London, that was probably a chore and a huge feat for her to lay still for any length of time. Little do her teachers know that she doesn't require a nap, it just makes her stay up longer!!! I got a good laugh out of that and she said she was a little scared because she laid underneath the computer station or something, weird. We'll see how long she can be good during this time. I don't remember Addi's kindergarten class doing this. I won't be surprised to hear from her teachers that she has a hard time holding still. Anyways, they better keep up the pace or she is going to go crazy with boredom. London also informed me that she loves taking the bus. This year there is like 10 kindergarten girls on the same bus, fun for the driver:) And Addi is ecstatic that they are doing a ton of science this year and can't wait to get started. Oh, and London informed me this morning that she didn't want to bring lunch, she wanted to buy it at the cafeteria. Man oh man that kid always wants to go out for dinner, shopping, anything but stay home. She is so funny!
It should be a fun year for them and hopefully Asher will survive without his buddies to hang out with.

Sunday Dinner

Let me just say first that I need to write down more of the things London says, because she's a hoot!! Tonight we were serving dinner and London looks at the chicken and says "mmmmm, Chicken with syrup!" like she thought for real it was that. She seemed pretty dang excited and thought her Mom was all that for thinking of it. Anyways, it was just teriyaki chicken. Man we love her! Hope, though, she doesn't keep saying "bemember..." (remember) and teleputter (caterpillar) and rasabell(Roswell) while at school, we thinks it's fun, but man kids can be mean.

Asher thought the funnest part of being at Hoots was the pylon's that blocked the way to a million cords. He kept dragging them everywhere, oblivious to all the kids running around him and sliding down the huge slides. We kept putting them back and he would get ticked and run back to move them around again. He is ALL boy! It sure is fun to watch him go.

Asher in Pinetop, AZ

We went to Pinetop, Az to meet up with my Mom and two cousins for the girls to play with and this is what Asher did while they swam in the pool (he's not so fond of being in the water, he enjoys running around the pool much more:). He has a lot of energy and thought he was the man being able to manuever himself down the ramp. Since this he loves to run down our driveway, which is sloped, into the street. For some reason he thinks the street is where it's at to play. Fun!

Tracy and the kids left to visit Tracy's mom in Pinetop, Arizona last Sunday so, being the dedicated employee I am, I crammed the week full of work: I left for Roswell right after the kids and Tracy embarked on their journey to Arizona. I got to work early Monday morning in Roswell and kept going right on through the evening for dinner with a doctor and my partner Sandra. Tuesday I finished up in Roswell and hauled myself back the 200 miles to Albuquerque for dinner with the staff of an office and a couple of nurse educators. Wednesday I worked all day and then had a dinner program in Albuquerque. Thursday I worked and then met a bunch of reps and doctors for dinner in Santa Fe. I stayed in Santa Fe Thursday night and attended the International Society for Clinical Densitometry's Santa Fe Bone Symposium that Started early Friday morning and went through most of Saturday. Friday evening, simply to insure my iminent insanity I threw in another dinner program. Tracy and the kids got back to Albuquerque Friday afternoon and I got home Saturday around 5:30 PM.

On the way to my house from Santa Fe I kept imagining myself hugging Tracy and the little people. I was so excited to see them all that I couldn't decide who to hug first or for how long and wished to be in four pieces pressing them all against me at the same time. I pulled into the driveway afraid I'd be sick with the anticipation building in my abdomen. As the garage door went up I saw that Tracy's car wasn't in its usual spot. Entering my empty house was a disappointment of biblical magnitude (think storm of fiery frogs instead of burning hail). My family was out school shopping.

For some reason--some self-defeating, and ultimately daft reason--I am not great at letting Tracy know how I feel about her and the little people we've created. Tracy, I hope you have a moment to read this soon and know I love you most of all. You bring meaning to my life, your my. . . oh, not another sappy eighties song. Man, Peter Cetera stole all the truly great sappy things to say already didn't he. I hate that guy. Well, maybe hate is too strong, but if there were a word that meant love with the strength of hate that would be how I feel about you Racy-Ray. I absolutely revile you with love.
